The Big, Big Heat Wave

Hi People out there! I know, long time since I've written... But I've got some mind-blowing, exciting news! I am nine years old!!!

AND I live in Spain. Some people say the rain in Spain stays mainly on the plain and I think that's true, because there's not been much rain in Spain.

Being in Spain is hard in ways, but great in ways. There are hot winds called levantes. They are very hot right now, and as I am writing, I am sweating my clothes off. HOOOOOWIE!

Here's what's hard:
  • Being in a new Spanish school
  • Trying to learn a language
  • Reading in Spanish
  • Having to make new friends
Here's what's great:
  • Being able to discover a new country
  • Having a bigger, better house
  • Having a bedroom that is 3x bigger than my last one, and nicer– I have a bigger bed and a little couch in there!
  • The excitement of maybe starting at a new school again this year
  •  Being able to eat different, delicious food
  • Discovering the Spanish culture
  • Having a beach a quick walk from our house
  • Meeting both American and Spanish friends
  • Lots of fun activities on the base
How are you doing? Are you doing well?

Thanks for reading!

P.S Make sure you check out my picture selection below!

  1. Thank you for sharing. I think it must be fascinating to live in a place like Spain! I love the pictures! How do you find learning another language? Good luck with school this year. I look forward to hearing more.

    1. Thank you for giving me a comment. Learning a new language is hard, but I'm doing it. All you have to do is listen, observe, and try! And I agree, the pictures are awesome. Ta ta!

  2. Where can I get a fabulous dress like the one you are wearing in the last picture? My daughter Aurora (she is 6) says "Wow, she looks like a beautiful dancer girl!" Since I'm unable to travel right now, I'm always excited to hear about other parts of the world. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on your new home as well as those lovely pictures. Saludos!

    1. Actually, those feria dresses ARE dancing dresses, but you go to a fair here called feria– it's a fair where everyone dresses up fancy in these dresses. My favorite food there was Pimientos de Padron.
      Adios! (From Amelia)

I really admire your courage to try new things. I hope that never changes. Gumaro and I miss you so much. Much love to you and to your wonderful mama and papa!
